Inscriptions of Aphrodisias 2007

Posted on 2025-02-11 - 14:11 authored by Charlotte Roueche

Between 1966 and 1994 Joyce Reynolds (University of Cambridge) and, from 1970, Charlotte Roueché (King's College London), transcribed, phtographed and studied inscribed texts (mostly in ancient Greek, although some in Latin) at the site of Aphrodisias in western Turkey; excavations were being conducted there by a team from New York Univerity, led by Professor Kenan Erim. Over several years they published studies of some of the material; but in 2007 they published a full corpus of all the texts none to them. These were all edited in EpiDoc XML, under the guidance of Gabriel Bodard.
